Evenings at Kilgraston Summer School are filled with fun activities, team-work, and time to make new friends in English. Our Social Programme starts on a Sunday, as soon as students arrive, with a welcome barbecue, followed by team-building games and activities designed to break the ice and have students mixing and getting to know one another.
From Monday to Friday we run a range of fun activities, including our House Championship. Students will be allocated a school 'House' on arrival, and together with their house-mates, will compete to win the House Cup, which will be awarded on the Friday of each week. House competitions will run several evenings a week, and my include treasure hunts, team quizzes, team sporting competitions, or various other activities. Our Youth Leadership Programme participants will be actively involved in this area, under the supervision of our Activity Leaders and Activity Manager. Other evening events include a Scottish ceilidh-dancing experience, student free-choice events, movie night, karaoke, and much more. Each week will have a different schedule of events running, so that no week is the same. One regular event will be our Saturday evening disco, which will be our goodbye party for students leaving on the Sunday. For students staying longer than one-week, Sundays will be a relaxed day at Kilgraston Summer School. We will run activities on-site for students who want to remain on campus, but we will also arrange supervised trips into Perth, to locations such as the cinema, leisure pool, or the shopping centre, where students can have the chance to purchase some souvenirs to take home with them. We will also arrange short, supervised nature walks on trails around the local area for some outdoor adventures. Sunday evenings will then kick off everything again, with the welcome barbecue and team-building games to get to know the new students. |
A Note on Coronavirus Safety MeasuresPlease note that the activities listed are examples of our normal schedule of activities. We will ensure that at the time of Kilgraston Summer School operating in 2021, all activities we run will follow the Scottish Government's guidance at that time. This might mean bringing in social distancing measures for some events, providing additional cleansing sanitisation methods, or even changing the planned events in necessary. Kilgraston Summer School's top priority will always be keeping our students and staff safe. |
